Results so far...

Well it seems six weeks have flown by, so I must update on what's going on!

I've now progressed from aerobics, I didn't find it was doing enough for me, I was getting shin splints, and really annoyed by not being able to remember the complicated routines. So, I tried Combat! I loved it! And have since realised that the Les Mills way of doing things makes so much sense! A universal class, where all instructors across the world (are supposed to) teach the exact same routine!

Anyway, so now my routine looks something like: -
Monday - Combat
Tuesday - Pump
Wednesday - Spinning or Day off
Thursday - Spinning or Day off
Friday - Combat
Saturday - Combat and Pump
Sunday - Gym or Day off

I've also started using the Power Plates this week, so we'll see how that goes??!!!

As for results, I'm quite disappointed with the lack of weight loss! I'm convincing myself though that it's not all about weight! I didn't end up sticking to the fortnightly measure; I didn't think it'd show enough progress, so I'm leaving it around a month between.

It's now been nine weeks since the diet began, and the first measure. The most impressive result is my hips; I've lost 3 inches so far! Mind you when they measure over 40, it's not a great deal in comparison! Especially when I've lost two inches of my bust! Just 33.5 underneath now! My vitals are looking a bit better, still wonky, but 38/33/41 does sound better than 39/34/44!

Watch this space!

On the right track...

Another little jaunt last night after work took me 6.5 miles home, not quite far enough on paper, but it was a tough ride! The wind picked up quite a bit through the day, meaning I worked much harder than normal! The last mile I was in so much pain! I could hardly lift my neck, I think I need to do some serious work on it, to loosen it up! Maybe some yoga will help in the interim??!

I've given myself the day off the bike today though, seeing as I'm attending aerobics tonight! I hate it, but it's the right kind of hate! I hate it so much I know it must be worth it! I hate that the instructors shout at you! I hate that I have to stare at myself in a massive mirror for 45 minutes, I hate how much it hurts the next day! But I love how I know it's doing me good, and in a few months time it won't hurt anymore, and (hopefully) I'll not mind who stares back at me in that mirror! Then who knows, I might progress to step!

Right now, I'm enduring my other new fad! The reduced lunch portion! I had a small (for me) lunch yesterday and managed to live off fruit all afternoon until my tea at 7.30pm. Let's see how today goes...

Progress? I hope so...

Well, I did over and above my five miles last night after work, seven to be precise! That totals nine miles on top of a working day! Mind you, I guess I need it with such a sedentary job! I'm finding myself volunteering for campus tours, just so I can climb a few flights of stairs! I did eight flights yesterday! More than eight times the usual amount.

It's quite sad to think that some days I only leave the office to pee or warm my lunch in the microwave! No wonder I've put on weight since my last job! Eight years in a busy supermarket certainly kept me on my toes!

I've tried to diet* plenty of times since starting in this job 21 months ago but seemed to have had no motivation each time, joining the gym, buying healthier foods, but it's never lasted as long as this time! I wonder if the motivation is increasing as I get into the "habit" of having smaller portions, or going out of my way to leave the car at home!

We'll see how it goes anyway! 1st measure on Sunday since the initial readings! I'll be happy if I can just lose 1 inch from my tum in this first fortnight!

Ooh, a little encouragement: -

*by "diet" I mean cut down on calories and fat, and increase exercise!

Wedding Diet!!!

OK, so serious diet's started now! 19 months to go, and I'd like to be near enogh ideal bridal weight / shape with 12 months to go, so I can seriously start looking for dresses!

I'm 12 days into the diet, and the exercise is picking up a gear today. Cycled to work, only two miles, but plan to go home the long way and do about five miles tonight. Times that by five days, Monday to Friday, and add an aerobics class and 20 lengths of the pool on Wednesday, and I'm sure I'll be back fit enough for some serious mountain biking and hiking in no time!!

Not really keeping tabs on my weight, but I'm measuring my inches on a fortnightly basis, so I'll have to keep my fingers crossed for some form of progression!!!!!

Wish me luck!
